Sargent Tucker Returns With a Soulful New Album, 'You’re The One For Me'

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, August 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Sargent Tucker, known to fans as ST, returns with You’re The One For Me, a new full-length physical CD and Vinyl Album that reflects his enduring passion for Soul and R&B music. Scheduled for release August 31, 2026, the album brings together heartfelt storytelling, sophisticated lyrics, infectious melodies, soulful grooves, and the kind of musical energy that has become part of ST’s signature sound.

With ten tracks divided into two distinct musical sections, You’re The One For Me takes listeners on a journey through love, memories, personal choices, relationships, and the joy of letting the music move you.

The first five songs lean into meaningful lyrics and emotional storytelling. “You Mean So Much To Me” takes listeners on a reflective journey down memory lane, while “Follow Your Heart” explores the importance of listening to your inner voice when faced with difficult, life-changing decisions. “Let’s Get Away” brings a lighter touch, imagining the freedom of escaping life’s challenges with someone special.

“Time Will Tell” explores love through a question and answer approach, reflecting on the idea that time ultimately reveals the truth. “The Presence of You” focuses on the beautiful aura created by closeness, admiration, and the presence of someone who matters.

The second half of the album shifts gears, bringing in more Soulful R&B, funky dance grooves, and upbeat tempos.

“We’re In This Love Together” is a song ST has regularly performed during his live shows. His vocal similarity to the late Al Jarreau became noticeable over time, inspiring him to record the Al Jarreau classic in his own signature style.

The title track, “You’re The One For Me,” keeps the energy moving with a groove that encourages listeners to put on their dancing shoes. That momentum continues with “U…Can’t Text Love Away” (Radio Mix), the album’s first single, which reached #1 on The Urban Influencer Soul and R&B Radio Charts in July 2026.

“Ain’t That Peculiar” also carries a special story. ST initially recorded a demo of the Marvin Gaye classic. A week later, producer Jimmy Levine, a close friend of the Gaye family, played the demo for Anna Gaye. After hearing the recording, Anna asked to hear it again. Following the second listen, she told ST, “You did Marvin good.” The moment stayed with him and inspired ST to record his own master of the Marvin Gaye classic.

The album closes with “One Thing Leads To Another,” continuing the dance mission with hip syncopation and a funky groove that makes it one of the album’s most energetic tracks.

For Sargent Tucker, this album is about more than simply releasing new music. It represents another chapter in a musical journey built on persistence, creativity, and a lifelong love of Soul and R&B.

A multi-talented singer-songwriter and musician, ST’s musical roots can be traced to New Orleans Soul and the San Francisco Bay Area. He has spent years developing his distinctive approach to songwriting, vocals, musicianship, and live performance. His work has earned recognition from industry professionals and audiences who appreciate authentic Soul and R&B.

Grammy-nominated producer and former Prince Music Director Levi Seacer describes Sargent Tucker as a gifted writer with distinctive vocals that are “silky, soulfully smooth, and original.”

Certified Diamond Award-winning producer Kevin Beamish, whose production credits span Rock, R&B, Heavy Metal, and Pop, has also worked with ST. Reflecting on Tucker’s artistry, Beamish recently said, “I believed in you then, and I believe in you now. Just keep doing real R&B music, I think there is a resurgence coming.”

Sargent Tucker continues to approach his music with the belief that every experience can provide inspiration.

“I had an intuition that challenges created access to learning,” says Tucker. “I’m grateful to be alive, in good health, and having the privilege to release my music. Pursuing music is a continuum of my purpose and vision.”

That passion has brought ST numerous accolades and opportunities throughout his career. He was among the artists hand-picked by the University of California Davis Chancellor’s Office Entertainment Department to be featured in its prestigious magazine.

Today, Sargent Tucker remains focused on creating music that connects. He is constantly writing, carrying a pad with him to capture new ideas whenever inspiration strikes.

With You’re The One For Me, ST continues that journey with an album that brings together heartfelt Soul, smooth R&B, funk, dance grooves, memorable melodies, and stories drawn from life and love.

For listeners who appreciate music with feeling, musicianship, and a genuine connection to Soul and R&B, You’re The One For Me offers another opportunity to experience what Sargent Tucker does best.
